m print and Real Plotter introduce new printers built with Xaar printheads at SGIA Expo 2009

A wide variety of printers utilizing Xaar printheads are on display in New Orleans, October 7-9, 2009

Cambridge, UK - Supporting Xaar’s theme, ‘Think Digital, Think Inkjet, Think Xaar’, Xaar partners at SGIA will be demonstrating the breadth of printers utilizing Xaar printheads, from wide-format to specialty presses, including introductions from m print and Real Plotter.

North American introduction of m print SP2 100 with Xaar 1001 printheads
m print, a manufacturer with expertise in digital technologies such as thermal transfer, pad and label printing, will feature the North American introduction of its first UV digital inkjet printer, the m print SP2 100 on the booth of its reseller, CPS Resources, Inc. (#1347). The m print SP2, equipped with the Xaar 1001 grayscale printhead, can quickly and economically print variable designs onto a wide range of promotional items as well as industrial parts for automotive, medical and other applications.

The full-color (CMYK + white or spot color) SP2 100 system prints excellent quality text and graphics onto both flat and 3-D objects up to 9.8” in height. It can print as fast as 79 feet per minute over a scalable width of 2.75-9.8”. The inkjet printer delivers a high degree of flexibility, enabling ad-hoc print runs and personalization on-demand. Printing a lot size of one or multiple logos is as simple as loading files in a computer. Meanwhile, the non-contact printing process, allowing parts to pass under stationary print heads, ensures product protection. The additional print unit for pre-printing opaque white delivers vivid color prints on dark or colored substrates.

The Xaar 1001 is ideal for the SP2 100, as the printhead has very high drop placement accuracy and can reliably print onto a wide variety of surfaces and materials. Its unique features, including Xaar’s patented Hybrid Side-Shooter (HSS)™ architecture with TF Technology™, ensure consistent and reliable operation using UV inks.

Introduction of Real Plotter Vermillion Proton printer with Xaar Proton printheads
On SGIA booth 145, Real Plotter, manufacturers of Vermillion digital printers in Latin America, is introducing its new Proton Vermillion solvent printer, built in Brazil. The Vermillion PROTON can print exceptional continuous-tone images on a wide variety of substrates with vibrant, durable colors for indoor or outdoor use. Equipped with Xaar Proton printheads, the easy to use Proton Vermillion prints up to 1440 dpi at a speed of 200 square feet per hour.

The highly productive Xaar Proton printhead is a wide, high-resolution binary printhead, producing outstanding print quality rapidly and consistently. Its 35-picoliter drop ensures sufficient resolution for high-quality signs and graphics, and its wide, 2.1” swathe, delivers high-speed multi-pass printing. End users appreciate its speed and excellent print performance. Printer manufacturers report that the Xaar Proton is easy to integrate and reduces setup times. The printheads can adjust to various speeds, delivering lower ink consumption without sacrificing color saturation.

Two other Xaar partners demonstrating digital printers with Xaar printheads at SGIA include:

* Pad Print Machinery of Vermont (booth 1613) partnered with Xaar to integrate the Xaar 1001 printhead into its “Engineered Printing Solutions” industrial custom machinery line, capable of printing high-quality images at 21 inches per second.

* Teckwin® International (booth 2067) utilizes the Xaar 760 printhead in its TeckStorm® UV Printer. The TeckStorm is primarily used for POP displays, durable graphics and billboard banners, where versatility is very important. The Teckwin8000 Series ink used in the Teckwin TeckStorm flatbed digital printer is approved by Xaar.

”Evident at SGIA is the wide variety of manufacturers that design their printers with Xaar printheads, from wideformat to specialty pad printers,” comments Chris Lynn, VP Sales and Marketing, Xaar Americas, Inc. “The assortment of printheads from Xaar allows manufacturers to select from binary, grayscale, and different speeds, resolutions and drop sizes to fit their specific requirements.”
