Are you interested in contributing content and information (i.e. short articles, how-to tips & tricks, press releases, etc.) to SIGNINDUSTRY.com? Want to know exactly how to get new product information featured on the site? Eager to give us the latest scoop on news being made by your company? Here's how to do it.

There are a number of ways to contribute information to SIGNINDUSTRY.com and reach the worldwide sign community. Content generally falls into one of four categories:

1. General features;
2. Category specific features (or news and commentary);
3. Tips and Tricks (How to's);
4. New products and Press Releases

General features:

If you've made advances in a specific area or if you have a compelling people story or hot topic you'd like to address, we welcome your e-mailed information:

  • Feature articles typically run from 750 to 2,000 words long.
  • Articles should be objective; the writer should focus primarily on the subject, not his or her own individual products or companies. Art-either photography, line drawings, graphs or charts-should accompany the stories where appropriate.
  • Focus on what is new or different.
  • Submit an outline or abstract (usually a paragraph or two) before proceeding with an article. Include the focus, the author and the author's qualifications.
  • Fee: In some circumstances (not all), SIGNINDUSTRY.com will pay for feature articles based on the quality of the article or topic. Please contact us in advance to discuss rates. Category/topic-specific features:

Within SIGNINDUSTRY.com we have 17 main categories (3 Dimensional, ADA, Architectural, Awnings & Flex Face, Banners, Business Development, Computer Technology, Digital, Electric, Fiber Optics, Installation, LED, Manufacturing, Neon, Outdoor, Screen Printing and Vinyl). These sections cover any business news or relevant information of interest to sign professionals, vendors who supply products within these categories, and of course buyers. Examples of appropriate features for the 16 categories aforementioned, include information on products, equipment, materials, substrates, media, new technologies, suppliers, mergers, acquisitions, marketing tips & tricks, general "how to" articles, how to buy smarter, industry events, strategic alliances, major sales of your product, senior level management changes, legal issues, financing, relocations, facilities upgrades, licensing agreements, research and development, and any other information may be of interest to someone seeking information on a specific SIGN INDUSTRY category. Case studies that fall into the categories that make up SIGNINDUSTRY.com also are appropriate-indeed, sought-for these areas.

Tips and Tricks (How to's):

We encourage and welcome any and all who are interested to submit "tips and tricks" (how to) type articles on all areas within the SIGN INDUSTRY. If you feel you have figured out a better way of doing something that will help others out, share it with the industry. In exchange, SIGNINDUSTRY.com will help promote your company online (and in some cases, even buy your article). To submit an article for this category, try to provide the following:

  • Concise article explaining your tip or trick
  • Pictures or illustrations that show your tip or trick in action
  • Contact info. for the author of the tip or trick

New Products and Press Releases:

  • Submit only new products for consideration;
  • Briefly describe the product's features, technical specifications, benefits, and applications of this new product;
  • Include a good color photograph of the product;
  • Note: you may submit more than one new product at a time, but they will not all be added to the site simultaneously.
  • Note: There is a fee to have a product placed within the PRODUCT SHOWCASE area of the site. Press Releases (if accepted) are posted for free.


Information Submission Formats:

  • Submit articles electronically, on disk or by e-mail or 3.5" IBM-PC compatible diskette. Files should be in either Word for Windows (.doc), Rich Text (.rtf) or ASCII text (.txt) formats. Do not use desktop publishing software or incorporate images into the text; images should be submitted in separate files.
  • When sending an article via e-mail, include it as an e-mail attachment and as text pasted directly into the email body, in case the attachment is unreadable.
  • A hard copy of the article may accompany the submission via fax.

Image Submission:

  • We can accept images as slides, prints, or as electronic files in .GIF or .JPEG formats, scanned at 72 dpi resolution. Do not send Power Point files. Files larger than 1 MB will be rejected. Please send a hard copy as a back up.
  • Submit diagrams as a clean hard copy, or as electronic files in .GIF or .JPEG formats, scanned at 72 dpi resolution. Do not fax diagrams.
  • Electronic images should be no more than 300 pixels wide.
